SMI-ICE-Chile and the UDD team present results from the first field in the Lagunillas bofedal
Researchers from SMI-ICE-Chile and the C+ department of the UDD held an internal seminar to present the preliminary results of the first monitoring campaign, conducted for the project «Estimation of the net balance of greenhouse gas emissions from the Lagunillas Wetland and carbon offset proposal,» which is being carried out for a mining company.
The University of Queensland will train miners from across Latin America
As part of an Australian transnational educational program supporting the development of a skilled workforce in the critical minerals sector, experts from the University of Queensland, in collaboration with SMI-ICE-Chile, will provide training on mine safety and sustainability in resource-rich regions of Latin America.

Mining women from all over Latin America received leadership training at SMI-ICE-Chile
Professionals from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile gathered at the SMI-ICE-Chile headquarters to train in skills and tools that support them in their professional progress and in assuming leadership positions.
Doug Aitken spoke at Northwestern University
Doug Aitken, Executive Director of SMI-ICE-Chile, did an outstanding job speaking at the scientific summit »Earth-Human Interactions: Sustainability and Development,” at Northwestern University, where the main challenges and advances in the areas of energy, climate change, cities and the environment were discussed.
