Doug Aitken interviewed on TVN about innovation in Chilean mining

Doug Aitken, Executive Drector of SMI-ICE-Chile, was interviewed in the latest edition of the Mining & Energy Report program on TVN’s 24 Hours signal (National Television of Chile), where he refers to the need to introduce greater innovation in the mining industry to face the challenging global energy transition. In the interview with journalist Nicolas Vial Correa, Aitken explained the urgency of innovating in production processes, exploration and tailings processing, as well as in how companies engage with indigenous communities and create social value in areas near mining operations.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the different actors in the mining ecosystem to build trust and agree on a common long-term strategy for the Chilean mining industry, which plays a key role in supplying critical minerals for the global energy transition.
