Line of research: Environmental Rehabilitation and Ecosystem Dynamics
Edmundo Claro holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, an MSc in Geography from King’s College London, and a PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of Cambridge.
During his career, he has conducted research, consulting, and projects in Chile and abroad in various environmental areas, including water management and governance, participatory natural resource modeling, waste management, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and climate change.
He has also taught environmental economics at several South American universities. Between 2014 and 2023, he directed the CSIRO Chile Land and Water Program, leading projects on water resource management, disaster management, and community relations. He is currently working on projects related to mining, water, and communities.
